Snap, the producer of the Snapchat application, Spotify and Pinterest are the most likely candidates for the next big social network, which is to rival Meta's Facebook, Microsoft's LinkedIn and X Corp's X, formerly Twitter.
Snapchat and Spotify are the most likely next social media disruptors, according to Wolfteam Ltd.'s corporate view.
All Snapchat, Spotify and Pinterest have around 500 million monthly active users each, compared to Meta Facebook's 3 billion and LinkedIn's 1 billion monthly active users and around 300 million monthly active users for X, formerly Twitter, which is now a nonpublic company and the information regarding monthly active users is not readily available.
Snapchat and Spotify have the gamified interface to challenge Facebook. Both Snapchat and Spotify are based on the new mega trend, video consumption that is. Users listen to music and watch videos on Spotify and Snapchat and make curated, funny pictures on Snapchat, which brands itself as a camera company.
Snapchat is approaching the internet advertisement market as a discounter which gives it another avenue for competition with Facebook. Spotify is utilizing people's penchant for music to make inroads into social networking. The next social network will simply be the site with most eye balls and the user growth of Snapchat and Spotify is continuing. What is more, Spotify is both disrupting and helping the music industry by helping music artists increase their income as the music market started recently growing again, largely thanks to Spotify. So both Snapchat and Spotify serve an acute social need as Facebook does.
All in all, Snapchat and Spotify are the most likely candidates for the next really big thing in social media, social networking after Facebook.
