Personally, I do not 'buy' the theory that AI, artificial intelligence, would destroy us 'accidentally'.
I have studied (hard) statistics. I know the AI models. I can program. A bit.
The only way AI can 'destroy' humanity is if AI is programmed maliciously and left unchecked to 'optimize' humanity/people out of existence.
That is, no control check points are left.
