Zoom Video Communications, the video conferencing service, is shaping up to be the next hot social network. In the coronavirus disease COVID-19 pandemic lockdown usage of Zoom Video video conferencing service basically exploded.
Everywhere in the world, people are using Zoom Video Communications to communicate, socialize and also work. So Zoom Video Communications can basically replace Facebook as the next global social network. Zoom Video Communications is currently valued at 48 billion USD by the US stock market. Facebook is currently valued at 670 billion USD.
So, what is the potential worth of Zoom Video Communications? I believe Zoom Video Communications' market capitalization could rise to 200 billion USD in the next 2-3 years. The good thing about technology businesses is that they are very easy to scale. If you are fast and good enough, it is a winner take all market. Like Facebook proved. The bad thing is that the next hot internet site could easily disrupt you. Like Yahoo, which was wildly successful early on, only later to decline dramatically.
Yes, Zoom Video Communications is shaping up to be a next generation social network. It just has to monetize its success by providing net profits to investors. Zoom Video Communications is already growing exponentially. If Zoom Video Communications keeps up above 70% revenue growth quarterly year on year and ultimately becomes much more profitable the company could easily be worth several fold more than currently. At 200 billion USD market capitalization in the next 2-3 years I believe Zoom Video Communications will be grossly overvalued, however. I must say!
